Working with the specialist furniture division of Edward Thackray Ltd, we designed a new reception desk in Corian and HPL as part of their refurbishment programme for Volvo SMT. The desk features LED lighting under the counter sections and an electrically operated sit-stand desk (hidden from view).
Through our reputation for working with very large format ceramic tiles, we were recommended to Area and worked with their design team and architects Hale Brown, to produce this attractive reception desk for CBRE. Tiles by Solus Ceramics were teamed with a desk top insert from Forbo and satin brass counter cap and trim detailing. The Challenge: A great deal of research, thinking and planning was needed for successful delivery. We wanted to achieve an exquisite quality on the two and three-way mitred joins of the large formt tiles. Combining forces with the country’s foremost Water-jet cutting service providers and one of the most experienced and accomplished large format tilers, we were able to achieve the very fine tolerances needed.
A bespoke banquette in button quilted bottle green hide, trimmed with satin brass and oak stained to match the floor tiles, was also supplied to Area, for use in the lift lobby area. All scribed to fit an awkward angled recess.
Having found inspiration in a Clerkenwell café, a ‘boutique’ solicitors practice in London EC1, was looking for a way to bring their ideas to life. Working with IPS, we designed this one person desk in Corian and genuine Carrera marble tiles. The ‘herringbone’ pattern wraps round and under the ‘flying’ worktop.
‘Architect style and flair for everyone’ is the strap line for Dragonfly Office Interiors: We think this circular meeting table for this Kent based creative design agency, set in a converted oast house, lives up to that promise!
Working with Dragonfly and on a tight budget, a pleasing result was achieved for a client in the financial sector with this 20 seater barrel shaped boardroom table. Cut-outs were provided for the client to install power modules and microphones. The Challenge: The client had already rejected two previous tables, supplied by others, due to the ‘valleys’ created by the plastic table top edging where the table sections butted. We researched the market and were able to overcome this issue, by the use of an extruded ultra-thin section, matching edging, allowing almost invisible joins in the table top.
This leading mobile phone network service provider needed to create and auditorium as part of a major extension to their London site. Working with Area’s technical design team, we provided this tiered seating installation, including steps, cushions and hand rails. The Challenge: Due to the project program and manufacturing lead times, the tiered seating had to be designed and manufactured, prior to the back and angled side wall of the room being built. The product was designed such that the structural elements would always fit in a ‘worst case’ smallest built space, with the cladding decorative panels made over-size, allowing them to be scribed to fit the room exactly, at installation stage.
For the same client, this bespoke trophy display wall, combined a physical barrier to define spaces and functions, with a place to show off their many awards.
This busy meeting room features a large writable wall with LED back lit border, supplied by Bespoke Wizard, as part of the same contract.
